A Magical Fundraiser
On March 25, 2023, Swamp Rat Experience invited the community to step through the magical portal on Platform 9¾ at Heritage Village and join a celebration of imagination and magic as the Potterverse apparated in Wood Buffalo! During the day, the barn loft was be filled with Harry Potter themed activities where children could make their own Pygme Puffs, play Quidditch, have their face painted, and enter a draw by testing their O.W.L skills!
That same evening, adults received their Hogwarts letter to attend the Yule Ball, an evening of butterbeer and potions mixed by Cocktails by Boots, witchy live performances by Jess Payette and Ruben Rotar, music by RD0Dave, a delicious smorgasbord by Dishes by Danielle, a live auction, and Quidditch Pong. Accio an incredible experience!
Both events sold out within weeks of tickets being released and we were able to raise over $7,000 in support of our community programming and productions! This was possible through generous support by FMM Law, Northern Plumbing & Heating Ltd., CEDA, Mix 103.7 fm, 100.5 Cruz FM, cocktailsbyboots and Northcotte Photography!
A thunderbolt thank you to our live auction donors Canadian Tire, Staples Fort McMurray and Anita Parker - the auction alone brought in close to $1,500! Sir Nicholas de-Mimsy Porpington himself would lose his head when he saw the generous bids by our guests.
