ABOUT SWAMP RAT EXPERIENCE
Swamp Rat Experience (SRE), founded in 2021, is a non-profit theatre society committed to accessible, community-driven performing arts. Through high-quality theatre productions, educational programs, and artistic development initiatives, we cultivate creativity, expression, and meaningful dialogue. We provide opportunities for all ages, offering youth programs (ages 7-17), workshops, mentorships, and new theatre initiatives. Our productions range from Broadway musicals to innovative one-act plays, engaging artists of all experience levels and enriching the local arts scene. By collaborating with local organizations, businesses, and artists, we bring unique performances and theatre events to the region.
Since 2024, we have partnered with Fort McMurray Composite High School to revitalize community theatre at King Street Theatre while contributing to its restoration.
SRE is committed to fostering a thriving, inclusive arts community by creating dynamic performance opportunities and educational initiatives. As we continue to grow, we aim to expand our reach, strengthen local partnerships, and enhance the region’s cultural landscape. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to inspire, connect, and enrich the lives of artists and audiences alike.

“Art is human. It is supposed to have room for everything that we are. It is not a space for the best of ourselves. It is a space for all of ourselves.”
