Intro to Stage Combat

Intro to Stage Combat with Nathan Loitz was a fun and safe two-day workshop that was an introduction to unarmed stage combat. It provided participants with a basic understanding of the concepts of stage combat, and they learned how to develop a stage fight using a variety of concepts and techniques.

This free workshop was possible through generous support by Fort McKay First Nation, Arts Council Wood Buffalo, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts, and Government of Alberta as part of Alberta Culture Days 2023.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Nathan Loitz is Metis Dene from Fort Mac Kay First Nation. He has worked as a professional actor in the Theatre for many years and he is an experienced Fight Director. He has certified with Fight Director’s Canada at the Advanced level. Nathan has performed and choreographed fights all across Western Canada and has worked as a Stuntman in film and television. His most recent credits include working as a stunt-actor on Black Summer, Billy the Kid and The Last of Us.
